Before anything else, what the heck is leverage? -- you're probably wondering that in your head right now. Leverage is something that I learned driving to school the other day while listening to a self-help guru that you probably know very well -- Tony Robbins
I admire his work not only because he has completely altered my life, but I energetically think that it has the capability to serve you as well, no matter what mode you're in. With that said, I try to complete my articles with content that I learned in other pieces of literature and audio CD's.
Have you ever experienced an occasion where you just had to change something about yourself? Possibly it was period where you looked in the mirror and disliked what you saw...or maybe a saying that you took personally from a friend when you went to a bar? You felt like you had to change so much that you said to yourself that you were willing to do literally ANYTHING to get it changed...
That, simply put, is creating leverage for yourself.
This is how I got in the best shape of my life from being an bulky youngster my entire life -- yes, my entire life. There was never an occasion where I was at 'the right weight' and I dealt with so much defeat emotionally and mentally that by the time I reached my sophmore year of college -- I wanted to change. I had the perseverance equivalent to Anakin Skywalker when he was willing to do anything to re-claim his mother's honor and her death. What did he do? -- He approached the most dangersome creatures on the planet of tatooine and destroyed all of the sand-people.
This is how I was able to change my weight and my health in just 90 days -- and believe me, I've tried a lot of times before that time and have failed miserably. But of course, what's victory without numerous preceding defeats, right? It was leverage I created for myself -- the feeling of being put down emotionally and being stuck with a negative self-image that had been implanted since infancy. That was what triggered my unstoppable will to change.
And this is how you need to begin your dreams as well. Whether you want to lose weight -- or get past that tough job interview for your dream job, you need to create leverage so that you will do everything in your power to reach your goal. As a personal opinion, a lot of people say they want to get healthier -- but as soon as that first road block hits them, the excuses come flying in.
"It's too expensive"
"It's too hard"
"It's too time consuming"
You don't have enough leverage.
This is really evident with a health and fitness company that I'm apart of. A lot of customers lately have been complaining about the price of a certain product. Without a doubt, it's one of the best products I've seen out in the market today to help you lose weight and gain your health back, but people would rather keep their money or do something else.
Here's what I have to say and then I'll end it here: If you create leverage on yourself like the way I showed you above -- it won't matter how expensive, time consuming, or hard it is...because you will FIND a way to make it happen or get it done.
