Latisse is a prescription medication the will make eyelashes grow longer, thicker, and darker. It is also used as a treatment for hypotrichosis. With approximately two months of continued use most people will see positive results. Eyelashes help to accentuate a person's eyes and also help to protect them from debris. If you want longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes because your eyelashes are inadequate you can use Latisse. Latisse is only available with a physician's prescription although in some states it is also available directly in the physician's office. You should never use anyone else's prescription to obtain Latisse. Here is how you can enhance your own eyelashes by using Latisse safely. All you need is some blotting tissues and the Latisse solution.
Every night you should start by removing your contact lenses and makeup and then thoroughly clean your face. Choose a new applicator that is provided with the Latisse solution from the tray. Place one drop of the Latisse solution on the tip of the applicator while you are holding the new, sterile applicator horizontally. Carefully and immediately draw the applicator across the skin where the skin and the eyelashes meet. Slide the applicator from the innermost to the outermost part of your eyelash line. Using a cotton round or a tissue, blot any excess Latisse solution that is beyond the margin of your eyelid. Throw the used applicator away. Repeat this process on your other eye using a new applicator.
If you miss one night's application, don't try to make it up. Simply wait until the next night and apply the Latisse solution. You should always wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your contact lenses. You should only ever use the applicators that are sterile that come with the latisse solution. Never apply the Latisse solution to your lower eyelids. You also shouldn't ever use the same applicator for both of your eyes. This will help to reduce the chances of possible cross contamination of your eyelids.
Much the same as other medicinal treatments, Latisse won't produce immediate results. In order for this prescription to take effect it may take as long as three months. Although there are some possible side effects, Latisse is considered a very safe treatment.
You should consult with your physician to determine if you are a good candidate for Latisse or not. You might be suited to use Latisse if you have been diagnosed with ocular pressure problems or glaucoma.
